As I reflect more on my life and purpose, the biggest thing I’ve been learning about is authenticity. It is said that “the journey of a thousand miles begins with one step”, hence your journey towards your purpose in life starts with you and your happiness and success in life begins with a transformation of your mindset.

Authenticity is being true to yourself, your personality, character and beliefs. It is being real and honest about who you are and it makes you more trustworthy. Being authentic is the foundation and the backbone on which everything else gets built upon. You have to know yourself, love yourself, trust yourself and be confident and secure in being and expressing who you are. It puts you in a vulnerable position sometimes, but it is always so liberating and powerful.

With my birthday coming up in exactly 2 weeks, I’ve be working on being very aware and intentional in what I think and do because I always want to live an authentic life. Despite my shy and introverted personality, I’ve become more comfortable being my true self in front of strangers and this is a reminder that our eccentricity, weirdness and uniqueness is what makes us special. It is our super power, so embrace it.

In the Spirit of being authentic, my outfit today is a great representation of me. Fashion is a way to express yourself to the world, so I dress based on my mood. Sometimes I love to be all dressed up, and other times I love to be very casual but most times I love wearing vibrant colors.

I love bold colors and prints, and when it comes to mixing colors, there’s an art to it. I built this look around this stunning yellow scallop trim coat from SheIn. This is one of my go to online stores to buy trendy and quality clothes at an affordable price. They always have the cutest clothes and always in good hands knowing that whenever I need something, SheIn most likely has it in multiple styles and colors.

My agenda today was to create a sophisticated color blocking look to go from desk to dinner so I paired this red floral top with the asymmetrical skirt and added a blue Ankara purse and pumps.

Style Tips of The Day

  1. An easy and safe way to color block is to use primary colors (Red, Blue, Yellow), they complement each other nicely.
  2. To color block in a subtle and safe way, incorporate contrasting colors with your accessories but for a really bold look, also color block your clothes e.g. pairing a yellow top with red pants or a blue dress and a red coat.
