Houston African Art Festival
Good morning! Happy Friday!
I’m so glad the week is almost over. The last 2 weeks have been very challenging for me because I had so much to do and if that wasn’t enough, I had to move (smh…). Although the weekend is right around the corner, I still have so much to do. I’m yet to unpack and organize my home and I’m going to be spending my weekend at the Houston African Arts Festival on Saturday and Sunday because yours truly (Moi) is going to be a vendor. I’ll be showcasing clothes, jewelry and accessories from my online store 3reeC’s – Chic Creations and Collections and networking with other businesses and clients.
I’m always so humbled and thankful for all the blessings and opportunities in my life. My family, friends and readers that pray for me, wish me well, encourage and support me in my journey especially during the difficult weeks are literally like the wind beneath my wings because for a hot minute this last week, I was so overwhelmed and ready to check out, lock myself up in my bedroom for a couple of days and just breathe, but I remembered the reason why I do so much.
Some people don’t understand why I work hard and juggle so much, and some people will never get it no matter how much I break it down. I believe that everyone has a purpose in this world and we all have talents which needs to be harnessed, used and shared with the world. Despite being book smart, I’ve always been a dreamer with a hunger to create but I didn’t feel I was creative or artistic to do anything, especially when I was surrounded with people who could either draw or sing etc. Fast forward to today September 9th 2016, I’m still the same person but my perspective is different and the box I put myself in has long been knocked down. I’m still a dreamer, but I’m also a doer, a visionary and a creator. I have since started to live my dream and do things I’m passionate about. I’ve chosen to live my life to the fullest NOW, and not in a later arbitrary life.
I’m an Artist. The ability to create and express myself is oxygen to me, it is life. I create with words through poetry and storytelling but I also create and express myself through my designs and style or simply by capturing other people’s moments of creativity. There is art everywhere. I see the beauty in everything. I like to make people feel. So, if you were once like me and feel you have no talents or no any creative bone in you, then think again. We ourselves are Art, we are a masterpiece. The essence of who we are and what we are is creativity, just tap into it and unleash it (LOL).
