6 Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas & Style Tips

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Hi Friends,

How’s your week going? Thanksgiving is officially here in a few days & I can’t wait. The best part of thanksgiving for me is the long weekend, spending time with my family/friends, eating yummy food & reflecting on my many blessings to give thanks. Thanksgiving kicks off the holiday season and during this time we have so many events and festivities to attend so for all the style lovers I’m going to share some of my favorite style of dresses perfect for the week. During the holidays there’s so much fun, laughter and food which is why I always wear comfortable clothes so I can eat and dance very well.

1.Pink Pleated Dress with a Red Coat –  Pleats are nice details on a dress which gives it more character and volume to flatter the waist and midsection. I would wear this dress to a cocktail or more formal event like a holiday party or even a wedding because of the cut, fit and length. It’s a chic dress and for an elegant finish I wore pumps. Also, I love mixing and matching colors and a fun way I do that is to wear another piece of clothing like a coat, vest or even a scarf with a lighter or darker hue of color e.g. Pink and Red, Purple and Blue, Green and Yellow, Orange and Red.

2.Blue Shift Dress with a White Coat – A shift dress is usually loose fitting and gives that bohemian chic vibe. I love the movement and cut of this dress which makes it flirty and comfortable. For a more fitted look I wore a belt to focus on my waist. When styling my looks I love adding textures which is why I decided to wear this white faux fur coat over this animal print dress for a winter look. I completed my outfit with a black/red embroidered handbag and red booties and I’m ready to go to a bar, a concert and an after party with friends.

3. Black Bodycon Dress with Brown Bomber Jacket – A bodycon dress is form fitted which accentuates the curves of a woman. Although it may seem casual, wearing a midi length dress makes the outfit more chic but for those who want to cover their midsection while they comfortably eat during the holiday festivities, you can wear a bomber jacket over the dress. I then added the black/red hat, red booties and handbag for a more dressed up look. You can never go wrong with a black dress because black is beautiful but since I love and live in prints and colors, I always find ways to add them to my look whenever I wear neutral colors. This look is also great for a dinner and movie kinda date night.

4. Brown Shift and Flare Dress with Brown Teddy Coat – This outfit was one of my most fun looks to shoot. I decided to mix and match prints while sticking to a neutral brown beige color to create a monochrome look. I wore this snakeskin dress which is loose fitting and fun with the bottom flare details and I paired it with matching snakeskin boots but wore a different animal print clutch purse and a teddy coat because winter is definitely here. I felt so fierce, sexy and just so amazing in this outfit. I was strutting like I was a king of the jungle or should I say queen of the 7 kingdoms.

5. Green Tiered Shift Dress – This is such a fun style. Yes it’s another shift dress but with multiple tiers which adds more volume and movement to it. It’s a great look for a fun night out to go dining and dancing with friends, which is also why I wore neon pumps and the multi colored sequins handbag from Zara. It’s also great for a New Years Eve party.

6. Green Shift Dress with Animal Print Cardigan – This is a more casual look. It’s a simple green shift dress because I live in shift dresses, but I made it more fun and stylish with the animal print cardigan. I’d wear this to run errands in flats or sneakers and switch to these boots for a small laid back get together with friends for drinks or at their home for games or movie night this holiday weekend.
