Being A Boss In Heels – A Modern and Classic Look
Hello Style Lovers,
Today I want to share my outfit of the day and message of the week which is to dress how you want to be addressed, and no matter how you feel, you get up, dress up, show up and never give up.
Our outfit of today was part of the looks from our ModChic Couture Summer Style Event which was held a few weeks ago. My blogger friend Nneka a.k.a. Queen of Sleeves and I planned to do a black and white outfit; like the rest of the Blog N Connect ladies (Around The Way Gyrl, The Fashion Turner and It’s Miss Bee 2U). Somehow, we also ended up with a Work Chic look perfect for the modern working girl. I went for a classic style with white wide leg pants which was masculine, but I paired it with a soft feminine blouse with a neck/collar tie. Meanwhile Nneka paired the unique geometric Ankara V-Check Top with black straight pants. Either top could easily have been paired with pencil skirts or skinny jeans with a pair of heels and a shoulder bag for a chic look. I always love items that can be styled to create different looks for various events. It helps you remain stylish but yet affordable and functional.

Your style and how you dress, speaks volumes of who you are. It portrays a certain image of you and could affect your brand which is why you have to be intentional about how you dress while remaining authentic. Just like your style, you also have to be intentional about the choices you make in achieving your dreams. You have to create a plan, have a timeline, set goals and specific ways to work towards it. Nobody owes you anything and you can’t wait on someone to give you ambition. Each day you have to be a dream chaser, a problem solver and find that thing that lights you up and makes your heart beat. You have to discover your passion and find how to use it in walking in your purpose. It’s not about quantity but quality. It’s not about popularity but how well we make an impact in the lives of others. As for me, my purpose in life is always to put a smile of someone’s face and help them find comfort and inspiration in life.
