Experience Old World Sophistication and Modern Luxury with Hotel Alessandra

Have you ever had a staycation? Do you like getting away for a few days to unwind and enjoy a certain type of luxury? Have you wanted to experience the comfort and luxury of living in a big city to feel the energy of being in the heart of it all, with lots of art, culture and fun activities? Have you ever had an opportunity to experience old world sophistication and modern luxury in Houston?

Well I love to experience all that and I have. Last month I had an opportunity to stay in the newest luxury hotel in Houston and I loved it. If you know me well enough, you know that I love traveling, I love exploring new places and trying new things and when I’m not all over the place, I d o a good old staycation.

I live in Richmond Texas which is 40 minutes from downtown because I love the suburbs but occasionally, I crave the beauty and life of the city. There is something organic and dynamic about not just physically living in the city, but being able to be in the center of all the activities and immerse yourself in it. As a new Houstonian (after 12 years in Maryland) I have experienced downtown Houston only a handful of times, so when I got a chance to collaborate with The Valencia Group Hotel and stay at their newest luxury hotel in Houston, Hotel Alessandra, I was excited and got one of my blogger babes to join me for the ride. In this post I’ll be sharing my experience and in my next post, I’ll share more details of my style and outfits for different events in the city.

For someone who has traveled to 17 different countries and counting, I know a great hotel. I loved the elegance, class and old European style of the hotel, mixed with the luxury of the services and opulence of the ambiance. I loved the contemporary but minimalistic style of the hotel decoration, especially the little details like the logo on the pillows to the details of the wallpaper in the corridors and behind the bathroom sliding doors. I also loved the comfort and details of our room, with the tub and the foldable mirror doors being my favorite

The view was also stunning, especially from the highest point as a 21-story hotel and I loved the different amenities, from the pool and gym with a rooftop view, to the relaxing Spa, cocktails at Bar Bardot and fine dining at the restaurant Lucienne serving continental European cuisine.

This high-end hotel did not only appeal to my sense of style and sophistication, but it had such a great ambiance and customer service. I loved the welcome package I received in my room on arrival (wine, cheese, fruits and a personalized note). The food was delicious and the gift was very thoughtful.

Their concierge services were also precise at ensuring that all the guests had a memorable, comfortable and convenient stay, from the iPad placement in the rooms for room service, to the constant kindness and friendliness of the butlers/door men and distinctive valet services like being able to communicate with them so your car is always ready before you get down. They also have a complimentary car service that chauffeurs you around the city in the Maserati. They drop you off and pick you up from anywhere downtown so you never have to worry about transportation.

Also, Hotel Alessandra is located in the heart of Houston’s art, culture and attractions from shops, restaurants to live music centers and museums and we had a great time from shopping and catching up over drinks and dinner. They had a nice selection of handcrafted cocktails and some of my favorite foods, Lamb Burger, Fries, Mac and Cheese.

For me it was a night out with my girlfriend but for others it can be a place for an intimate event with family, a business meeting with colleagues, a pamper day with spa and happy hour with your best girlfriends or an epic moment like an intimate engagement with loved ones. But whatever you decide, not only will you have the time of your life, but you’ll feel like you’re home away from home with an extra dose of luxury.

The quality of the hotel was great and their hospitality was beyond exceptional. I had a great experience and definitely suggest you experience it too. My plan is to have a romantic weekend with my husband for  Valentine’s Day,  especially since it’s our 8 years anniversary as a couple.
