A Little Black Dress for Black History Month
Good morning darlings!
Hope everyone had a great weekend. I’m still on my girls trip in Brazil with one of my best friends and I’m excited to share all the details and pictures with you all when I get back. In the meantime, here’s my Little Black Dress look for today in honor of Black History Month which is this February. Although this event is rounding up soon, we should all remember that Black history is part of American history and despite the pain and sadness of our past and the difficulty that has plagued our community, this period is a tribute to our history, a reminder of the progress we’ve made and the work we have to do today as a nation (Blacks, Whites, Latinas, Asians etc.) for a better tomorrow and a brighter future. We should all learn to love, understand and support each other despite our differences.
I chose to wear black because despite what dark and negative things we may associate with the color black, there is alot of positives too. The color black also signifies power, elegance, formality, class and comfort. So when I chose this Patrizia Luca black mini dress, I embodied the positive attributes of my people. The cold shoulder detail was also perfect for the weather as the transition from Winter to Spring continues. I paired this with my Black Gladiator Sandals from ShoeDazzle and Blue Midnight Ankara Handbag from our very own 3REEC’s – Chic Creations and Collections. I wore a mix of beaded and metallic bracelets with my Breda watch and this Tribal Print Necklace from 3REEC’s.
I hope you love this look and the message behind this post. You can shop the links below for a similar look. Have a wonderful day!
