Retro Chic – Pleated A-line Skirt
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas spending quality time with loved ones. This year, my husband and I decided to celebrate the holidays in Nigeria which is where I was born. We flew out Christmas eve and planned to spend Christmas in Paris and then Lagos. I was so excited, but everything went wrong starting in Houston with Delta giving me a very hard time concerning my credit card used to book my trip because I was going to Nigeria. Then Air France wrongfully canceled my connection flight from Paris to Lagos but after they rectified the issue, they lost my luggage which included gifts for my family and entire wardrobe for 2 weeks and my outfits for photoshoots I had planned for in Nigeria. The final disaster was Arik Airline delaying and later canceling my flight in Lagos to get to my family’s country home.
Despite the difficulty, amazing family and friends came to the rescue and after seeing my loved ones and getting immersed in the sights and sounds of Nigeria, the crazy journey getting there felt like a distant memory. For a glimpse of my “Nigerian Adventures”, follow me on Snapchat (cnohanele).
Also, because of the difficulties I had, I was unable to post this a few days ago but better late than never. This is a classic retro look built around an A-line skirt. This silhouette is so feminine and chic. An A-line skirt is great on any body type, and the midi style elongates and slims your body frame! I wore a red vintage blouse from a thrift store and complemented my look with a black clutch with gold details and black pumps with feather details by Betsey Johnson.
I hope you love my look and get inspired to mix items; prints, colors, neutrals, retro, classic pieces etc. Click on the links below for more details and SUBSCRIBE to my blog for more tips on how to stay stylish.
