 • About Me

Hello Darling!

Welcome to “Chigi’s World”. My name is Chigozie Ohanele aka Chigi. I was born and raised in Nigeria, but lived briefly in Holland before my family relocated to the United States (U.S.). I lived in Maryland for almost 12 years where I met my amazing husband Michael before we relocated to Texas a few years ago. After almost 7 years of marriage and infertility struggles, we finally welcomed our miracle baby, our son Chimaobi-Jax.

As a multi talented woman, I wear different hats and have multiple passions, but at the core of it is empowering high achieving women to live a better life. My purpose is to inspire women to find their authentic voice, style, strength and purpose, learn to leverage their resources (knowledge, skills, platform, network, experiences) and intentionally use it all to make a positive impact in their community and make profit. I also show women how to maintain a healthy, happy and balanced life, personally and professionally even while growing wealth, because no matter who you are and what role you play as daughter, sister, wife, mother or friend, you can have all that you desire to live your best life.

Despite my educational and professional background as a Biologist, Registered Nurse and a Nurse Practitioner, I decided to start my blog as a way to share my stories, my experiences and resources to help other women and now Chigi’s World has transformed into a Media and Lifestyle Brand.

As a Houston Lifestyle Writer, Content Creator, Creative Director, Digital Strategist, Host and Speaker, I have worked on multiple campaigns with different brands, plus I have organized and hosted many Fashion, Business, Networking and Nonprofit events. Beyond that, I’m also a Healthcare Consultant, Holistic Health/Life Coach and soon to be Author.

On my platform you’ll find different types of content on Beauty, Fashion, Business, Career, Finance, Health, Fitness, Food, Travel, Fun, Entertainment, Faith, Mindset, Family, Friendship, Community Building, Events, Businesses I love and Non Profit Organizations I support.

In my tribe, the Igbo name CHIGOZIE means God Bless/Blesses. So, as you stop by to engage on my content, I hope my stories and resources resonate with you and may God Bless You abundantly.

xoxo

Chigi.

FUN FACTS ABOUT CHIGI

  1. What’s your personality like? – I’m an INFJ. I’m an introvert, sometimes shy but very observant. I’m energetic, upbeat, playful and have a bubbly personality once I get comfortable. I always look for the best in people and have a very optimistic view of life because of my faith in God.

2. What type of mindset do you have? I have an Abundance and Growth Mindset. I believe that as children of God we have access to all that he has created once we tap into that power. We are called to live a life of purpose, to love God and love our neighbors as ourselves by serving, giving, being great stewards of all God has created and by using the knowledge, skills, resources, time, energy, platform, opportunities and privileges God has given us to be a blessing to everyone around us and be a world changer.

3. What’s one book that changed your life? – Besides the Bible, it’s Boundaries When to say yes, how to say no, to take control of your life by Dr. Henry Cloud & Dr. John Townsend. As an empath, people pleaser and perfectionist, I struggled a lot with the ability to set healthy boundaries because of how I was raised but during one of the most difficult time in my life (post partum) I started seeing a Therapist to help me heal past trauma and better cope with stress and this was the first book she recommended I read which totally transformed my life and helped my relationships by setting healthier boundaries.

4. What’s one thing people may be surprised to know about you? – I was such a tomboy growing up. I did play with dolls but I wasn’t “girly”. Whatever the boys did I did to e.g. I was into different sports, would climb trees with them, would play wrestling, read comics etc.

5. If you could have lunch with anyone, dead or alive who would it be? Michelle Obama, Oprah, Chimamanda Adichie, Beyonce, Nicole Walters, Luvvie, Aunt Chioma, Princess Diana, Mother Theresa, Kobe Bryant and most of all Jesus.
6. What do you enjoy doing for fun? I love reading a good book, watching a great movie, listening to music, dancing, having brunch with my girlfriends, spending time with my loved ones, chatting with like minded women about life and traveling to explore the beauty of earth while learning about different cultures.

7. Can you describe your style in 6 words? Bold, colorful, vibrant, unique, eclectic and chic.
8. What’s your favorite color? I don’t have one. I love the rainbow colors because it brightens and elevates my energy.

9. What are you very passionate about? I’m very passionate about improving the lives of people and helping marginalized people fight for justice and equality which is why I focus more on issues relating to women’s rights and the black community. I want to live in a world where there is diversity and inclusion of all people regardless of gender, race, age, class, religion etc.
10. What’s your hope for women? That more women will realize their self worth and know that they have the power to be and do whatever they set their mind on. I believe we can have ALL that we desire but we don’t have to do it all alone. Also, we have to be willing to attain our goals by doing it Gods way which looks different for everyone. We as women can have it ALL by creating effective systems to help us and by having trusted people who can support us. So my prayer for you today is that you find your purpose, path and the destiny helpers to help you build your dream life like I have.
