I’ve shared a few times that my style is greatly influenced by retro styles especially from the 60s and 70s era which was the bold, fun and creative era where there were no rules. People mixed prints, bold colors, textures and even styles to express themselves and that inspires me. I love the freedom to express myself and not having to fit into a box of what and how I should dress. What I choose to wear most times is based on my mood but regardless of what I wear, I have to be comfortable and be me.
My look today was inspired by the Afro rocking beautiful black women of the 70s most especially the gorgeous Pam Grier aka Foxy Brown. She was the first African American actress to headline an action film and she played a strong and confident woman in her sexy crop tops, high waisted pants and platform shoes, while rocking her crown of curls.
To create my look, I paired this floral off the shoulder crop top from 3REEC’S with pink high waisted, wide leg pants from A’GACI. Now how foxy is that? Then I complemented my look with my brown platform sandals, an Ankara handbag and Siammpatra’s choker necklace and embellished cuff bracelet. The great thing about these jewelry is that regardless of what outfit I wear, I’m always unique and making a bold statement with their collection.
How do you like it? Share your comments below because I’d like your feedback. Recently I’ve been getting a lot of questions on how to wear prints and bold colors and I’m working on creating content for this. My goal is to inspire you and addressing your need is a great place to start.
